I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. Recently, I have been interested in the factors of state politics and structures that make politics more or less competitive.  My earlier research primarily focused on how nonprofit advocacy groups use social media to inform, grow, and engage their audience. 

 

I have taught classes in a variety of formats to a variety of audiences. I have taught courses ranging in size from eight to 90. I have worked as a teaching assistant and instructor of record. My teaching experience includes both graduate, undergraduate, and community college courses that are in-person, hybrid, and online.

 

I have also worked as a volunteer and paid consultant for a variety of political campaigns and nonprofits, providing service and advice on advocacy in a digital space.
